Profile

I provide specialist consultancy services in structural integrity, fracture mechanics, fatigue, creep, defect assessment and computational analysis, including expert witness advice.
I have over 30 years experience in structural mechanics, finite element analysis, fracture mechanics and structural integrity assessment.
After graduating from Imperial College, London in 1977 with a First Class Honours degree in physics, I spent three years in the automotive friction materials industry at Mintex Ltd.
I returned to academic life in 1980 to study for a PhD in numerical fracture mechanics at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Sheffield University.
Following spells of post-doctoral university research, and employment in power generation (CEGB) and engineering software (nCode Ltd), I became an independent consultant in summer 1993.
